An employee is entitled to parental leave during the first year of their child's life. Below you will find what you need to know and do as an employer.
What are the rules?
- Duration: a maximum of 26 weeks, of which 9 weeks are paid and 17 weeks are unpaid
- The employee must request this in writing at least 2 months in advance
- The leave may be taken in parts spread across the first year of the child's life
Continued pay
- The first 9 weeks are paid via compensation from the UWV
- The remaining 17 weeks are unpaid
Processing

At the end of each month, send an email to the payroll administration to let them know how the leave has been taken. Send your email to administratie@mreinstein.nl. Always notify us again if anything changes.
Payroll employee (Payrollmedewerker)
Mr. Einstein will request the compensation from the UWV. The employee lets us know how they want to take the leave. Contact the HR team at help@mreinstein.nl so we can process this.
